Rabbi Micha Oddenheimer, Chairman
A graduate of Yale University and an ordained Rabbi,
Micha Odenheimer is a frequent contributor to Ha'aretz
and has written as well for such publications as The
Washington Post and Foreign Policy. Micha is the former
director of the Israel office of the American Association
for Ethiopian Jews (AAEJ), and the founding director
of the IAEJ, a post from which he retired in 1997.
Devora
Greisman Before making aliyah from Toronto, Canada, Devora worked for
the Canadian Association for Ethiopian Jews. She has been active in the cause
of Ethiopian Jews for over 15 years. Matti Elias
Matti was one of the first to make aliyah from Ethiopian in the 1960's. He works
at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in Jerusalem overseeing leadership
development programs in the Ethiopian community. Yaacov Hizkiyahu Yaakov made aliyah
from Ethiopia in the early 1980's and currently works as an Ulpan Coordinator
at the Minsitry of Education. Yaakov earned an MBA degree from Touro College in
Jerusalem. Roberta Fahn Roberta was the advisor
on diaspora affairs to past Prime Minister Ehud Barak. Roberta runs her own strategic
consultation company in Jerusalem. Tziona Yeshayahu
Tziona works as a senior administrator at Bank Hapoalim. She made aliyah from
Ethiopia in the early 1980's. Yossi Klein HaLevi
Yossi is a native of New York who made aliyah in 1982. He is a writer for the
New Republic, the Jerusalem Report, and a contributor to American newspapers.
He is also the author of the book, "At the Entrance to the Garden of Eden:
A Jew's Search for God with Christians and Muslims in the Holy Land."
Gideon Ambaya Gideon made aliyah from
Ethiopian in 1984. He works in the refugee department of the United Nations and
is a student of Behavioral Science. Dr.Daphna Golan
Dapha is a lecturer in the Faculty of Law and The Minerva Center for Human Rights
at the Hebrew University. Eeta Prince Gibson
Eetta is a journalist for the Jerusalem Post and a special correspondent for the
Washington Post. She has also contributed to Hadassah Magazine, MS, the Progressive,
the Boston Globe and the Christian Science Monitor. Eetta is currently completing
her PhD in political psychology at the Hebrew University, where she lectures on
gender and cultural studies.
