Kiryat
Shmona had just been hit by a barrage of Katyusha rockets from Lebanon.
During Operation Peace for the Galilee the IDF bombed Hizbullah targets
day and night. Kiryat Shmona became a war zone. I drove up with a photographer
from the Ma'ariv newspaper. As we arrived, a katyusha rocket flew in,
missing us by a about 100 metres.
I
couldn't get hold of my wife to let her know that I was going up to cover
the situation. I did, however, leave her a message ... and also asked
her nicely to record the Indian cooking program on BBC that night ... |
