History > The Jews of Qara

In the Beginning Operation Solomon
Exile in Ethiopia The Falasha Mura
Operation Moses The Jews of Qara

Hundreds of Jews from the remote region of Qara were unable to join Operation Solomon due to the rebel advance.

When permission was finally granted it still proved impossible to bring the Jews of Qara directly to Addis.

Large groups of Ethiopian Jews therefore traveled on foot to collection points, from which trucks brought them to Addis - from Addis they too returned home to Israel.

Over the course of 9 months beginning on September 15, 1991, four thousand five hundred Jews followed this route.
