12 Ethiopian students from Kiryat Bialik are currently enrolled in the Kibbutz Afak school system.

Recently, the Kiryat Bialik schools system and municipality took action to bring the students back because of extra government subsidies that could come with them, regardless of the fact that it was in the students' best interest to remain in their current classes.

IAEJ presented a position paper in Knesset to that effect and it was ultimately decided that the students would remain at the Kibbutz Afak school.
